CROATIA AND MONTENEGRO


Day 1. - Arrival

Day 2. Dubrovnik - Korčula - Dubrovnik
A bus ride through the Pelješac Peninsula, well-known for its vineyards, towards the island of Korčula, birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. A visit to St Mark's Cathedral.

Day 3. Dubrovnik - Čilipi - Dubrovnik
A tour of the beautiful agricultural area of Konavle, and a visit to the village of Čilipi which was completely demolished during the Croatian War of Independence and later completely restored following the local tradition. A welcome drink and a folklore spectacle. A tour of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site follows, including the Dominican Monastery and the Cathedral.

Day 4. Dubrovnik - Perast - Kotor - Budva - Herceg Novi Region
A visit to the town of Perast offering views of the islets St George and Our Lady of Škrpjela. A tour of St Nicholas' Church, a boat ride to the islet of Our Lady of Škrpjela and a visit to the church housing a valuable collection of the 17th century paintings. A tour of the town of Kotor including a visit to the Cathedral of St Tryphon (Sveti Tripun) and a stroll through the charming city streets.

Day 5. Herceg Novi Region - Cetinje - Ostrog - Herceg Novi Region
A visit to the Palace of King Nikola in Cetinje. The tour continues towards the Monastery of Ostrog. This impressive place of pilgrimage was cut into a cliff of Mount Ostrog. The monastery was founded in 1665 by Basil of Ostrog (Vasilije Ostroški), Montenegro's most revered saint, whose relics are believed to heal many diseases.

Day 6. Herceg Novi Region - Morača - Lake Skadar - Herceg Novi Region
Departure towards Morača River Canyon and the monastery of the same name world famous for its frescos. A boat ride through the Lake Skadar National Park (Nacionalni park Skadarsko jezero), spreading over 40.00 hectares, will be an opportunity to admire picturesque villages, rivers, fortresses and monasteries. The park is also a wildlife refuge with one of the largest ornithological reserves (more than 270 bird species) and one of Europe's last pelican habitats.

Day 7. Herceg Novi Region - Cavtat - Dubrovnik
A visit to the small medieval town of Cavtat located on the Adriatic cost and well-known for its rich cultural and historic heritage. The excursion continues with a tour of the walled city Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
