Zagorje, Istra, Kvarner, Plitvice and Split

Day 1. Zagreb
A tour of Zagreb includes the district of Donji Grad, the Botanical Garden, the University Library, the Mimara Museum, the Croatian National Theatre, the University of Zagreb and Zrinjevac Park. We shall have the opportunity to see the hill of Gornji Grad, St Mark Square with St Mark's Church, the Croatian Parliament and the Banski dvori (Viceroy's Court). The visit continues with a walk towards the Lotrščak Tower and the Jesuit Square - through the Kamenita Vrata (Stone Gate), along the Radić Street to Josip Jelačić Square and Manduševac - and ends with a tour of the Cathedral.

Day 2. Zagreb - Varaždin - Zagreb
A sightseeing tour of the city of Varaždin, whose old city is well-known for its Baroque buildings (City Hall, Cathedral), comprising a visit to the famous Varaždin Cemetery. Lunch will be served in a restaurant, after which we shall visit the Trakošćan Castle, a former residence of the Drašković family and nowadays one of Croatia's most beautiful castles and museums housing furniture and weapons from the 15th to the 19th century.

Day 3. Zagreb - Poreč - Rovinj
A tour of the town of Poreč, famous for the 6th century Basilica of St Euphrasius - the best preserved piece of Early Byzantine art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour continues with visits to the towns of Motovun and Roč in Central Istria. Follows a visit to Rovinj including a walk through its picturesque streets towards the Cathedral of St Euphemia - the town's symbol.

Day 4. Rovinj - Pula - Opatija
A tour of the Brijuni National Park, an archipelago consisting of 14 islands and islets. The largest of them, called the Veliki Brijun, is famous for its exotic flora and fauna and numerous archaeological finds. A visit to Pula and its famous Antique amphitheatre. Dating from the 1st century AD, the Arena of Pula is one of the world's best preserved Roman amphitheatres. A sightseeing tour of the old city and the Temple of Augustus.

Day 5. Rijeka - Opatija
A tour of Rijeka includes visits to the church and castle on the top of Mount Trsat, and the old city with its famous promenade called Korzo. A free afternoon in Opatija, one of the most beautiful tourist resorts on the Adriatic, which used to be a favourite holiday place for the Habsburg family and other European royal families.

Day 6. Opatija - Plitvice
A tour of the Plitvice lake National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Exploring the park, you will discover 16 beautiful lakes interconnected with 92 waterfalls.

Day 7. Plitvice - Trogir - Split
A tour of the picturesque medieval town of Trogir, nowadays a well-known centre of Croatian art. A tour of Split follows, highlighting Diocletian's Palace from the 3rd century and the Cathedral St Dominus (Katedrala Sv. Duje).
